We have a small flock of pedigree Black Welsh Mountain Sheep as well some commercial Texel-cross sheep. The Black Welsh Mountain Sheep are a hardy traditional breed that produce excellent quality meat. We also favour growing our animals on for longer producing hogget, which means the meat is slightly older than lamb, but younger than mutton. As a result has more flavour and a more steak-like texture to it.
